What do you most hope to see in Season 2? What do you fantasize you’ll see?
I’ll start: I really (really really really) want to see Betty have an affair. And I really want to see Don back with Rachel. Not your conventional notion of romance, but Mad Men is not a conventional show.
How about you?

Betty will definitely have an affair (I think you can totally tell when she is in that black number in the season 2 promo). She is definitely not in her house when she is wearing that outfit (it looks like an apartment). Go Betty!

We’re in ‘62, no? I want to see the Sterling Cooper boys reaction to the death of Marilyn Monroe.

Have you guys seen this?

I’m reading it now, someone posted the link on another thread.
Man, you go into a meeting…

My romantic heart wants to see Sal find some happiness.
I’d like Trudy and Pete not to have kids, have her family give HIM the stink eye, all the while we know that Pete’s little minnows can swim just fine.
I want Peggy to sic her deadly bangs on the next man who says something sexist to her.
Not only do I want Betty to have her own affair, I want her to say, “Not tonight Don, I have a headache — and knowing you, you all ready gave at the office.”
I want Helen to get a great job as a buyer at the jewelry store and glow with happiness while the rest of the neighborhood women hum, “Is That All There Is?”
I want Glen to set up a therapy booth like Lucy’s in the Peanuts cartoon. 5 cents… or a lock of your hair.
I want to see an overly literal housewife played by Emma Caulfield.

I only want 2 things…
*Don and Rachel to be together again!
*More of Ken, the blond Fella!
June 20, 2008 at 3:32 pm
I want more of everything!
June 20, 2008 at 6:40 pm
I want more of Ken as well and more of Harry.
Hi, I’m back! Hideous week at work, I tell you. I may need a job soon. All of a sudden I realized that I’m in a corporate version of Mean Girls and there’s no Tina Fey around. Bah.

1. Sal to be married to Lois Adler, happily at first (I envision Sal having retreated further into the closet after his unsettling rendezvous with Elliott, and finding some (temporary) comfort and relief with the sweet, adoring Lois)
2.Joan to be engaged to a dissolute European aristocrat
3. Peggy to have a real friend/mentor (perhaps Doktor “Deathwish” Lady?)
4. Pete to be divorced and remarried to a fellow blueblood, an untamed heiress type who cheats on him flagrantly and hits on Don
5. a glimpse of Harry and Jennifer’s home life
6. YodaBert to have dropped Ayn Rand as Public Intellectual #1 and picked up on Marshall McLuhan
7. Midge, now working in the Art Department, living with a black jazz musician
8. more Rachel
June 20, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Definitely more Rachel.
June 20, 2008 at 9:32 pm
Yes to more Ken and Harry. Yes to Harry & Jennifer. Yes to McLuhan.
Love the ideas, people!

Pete pulls a Sterling on Jennifer.

1) The new Black secretary at Sterling Cooper, in whom Paul has taken a bit of a romantic interest.
2) Cooper’s home life, complete with sister Alice, and his wife.
3) Francine decking Carlton–in public.
4) Betty having an affair–or at least getting a new washing machine and air conditioner, and if not that, then a really big stallion to ride.
5) Trudy and her family tightening the vise on Pete–especially as he deals with the death of his father and being left out of his will.
6) Joan with a real boyfriend. Someone smokin’, who’ll give Roger a real run for his money.
7) More of the whole Menken clan. I love no-nonsense Daddy Menken, and Barbara’s a hoot. And who wouldn’t want more Rachel?
8 ) Mona ripping Roger a new one.
9) More reveal of Don’s backstory, and Don selectively seeking solace with his brunette of the month.
10) Harry and Jennifer.
11) Kenny getting another story published–or maybe even his novel.

Erm…Smiley face guy is supposed to be number 8. I forgot that using the number 8 and the right parenthesis is also an emoticon…
June 20, 2008 at 10:25 pm
Lemme try that again… Harry and Pete’s friendship is tainted when Pete gets drunk and hits on Jennifer.
June 20, 2008 at 10:29 pm
oh yes, Cooper’s home life. I’m seeing Bert puttering in a kimono, tending his orchids in the solarium…
also, who do you guys think JUDY Campbell will be? there was a listing on imdb of season 2 credits:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1118051/fullcredits#cast
June 21, 2008 at 7:43 am
Hull, I fixed your 8.
Roberta, good one!
Mell, Miranda Lilley (Judy Campbell) is young and pretty and I’d bet she’s a sister or sister-in-law (Bud’s wife).

I want Peggy to rise through the ranks of Sterling Cooper. I want to see more of Sal and his lifestyle.
