I like that picture on the cover of EW for sure, but I don’t love it, which is a bummer cuz I’d really like to love it.
Christina looks absolutely fabulous, yes, but Don looks just so-so. In this photo, to my eye, he looks far more smarmy than sexy, and yet we know just how {drool, drool} incredibly sexy he can be. Oh well.
By the way, thanks again to the Lipp sisters for their efforts on this blog – doing all the work to find the juicy Mad Men updates so we don’t have to.

Agreed, OG … Hamm looks like a cross between Bill Pullman and a MAD Magazine cartoon. He’s got kind of a loopy look in his eyes, whereas Don is usually focused.
Can’t believe I’m saying this but, HE LOOKS LIKE HE NEEDS MORE BRYLCREEM.

I think part of the problem with the photo not capturing Don’s sexiness is that the tone is too cool – Christina’s primary colors can punch through it, but Jon looks kind of washed out… Ah well, at least they made the COVER of EW!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but that was one of those “kicky” teen surf flicks, wasn’t it? Along the lines of Beach Party movies, but not as good… I wonder if that portends anything about the tone of the new season… (Don dancing the Watusi on Jones Beach, anyone?)
Then again, they’re probably referencing the Pepsi campaign, and all will be well with our characters!

The EW article mentions a 25 million dollar budget for the pre-season 2 promo; makes my heart all atwitter.

It’s VERY interesting how Don [Hamm] looks. Remember this is the start of Playboy magazine, the photo of Don looks like someone who is ‘into’ the playboy’ thing….
