Actor Christopher Allport, who played Pete Campbell’s father in the New Amsterdam episode, died on January 25 in the recent avalanches. He was 60 years old.
We wish his family all of our condolences.

That is a crappy reason to die young.
I know there are tons of crappy reasons, but. well. avalanche is a crappy reason.

It’s senseless and horrible and I’m sure his family is grieving. On the other hand, I’d much rather go in a stunning display of Nature’s power than in an auto accident or from cancer or something. There’s a certain dignity in it.
