The other day I was thinking about how odd January is as a first name. I mean, April, sure. May, yep. June, yessirree. I know people with all of those spring months. But I don’t know any Januarys or Februarys or Marches. I was wondering, is this a new thing? Did her parents make it up?
Later the same day, I come across this woman.
That’s right. There are two different blondes named January Jones. I’m definitely plexed.

Go know!

I’m not gonna lie, I like it. It feels modern yet classic, unusual but not too far over the top. I particularly think it works for a Mad Men star.

The weirdest part for me is that there are two of them.

It’s cause it really kind of sings. Remember there was a star back in the day, Jennifer Jones. And there was Janet Jones, who is now married to Wayne Gretzky. Janet was kind of the January type; a perfect blonde.
January Jones = a good name.

I like the name too. But I tend to like unusual names, just as long as they’re not too difficult to pronounce.

Okay. I have no life and am trolling back issues of your blog because I can’t sleep. Topic? January Jones=cool name. I agree. But wanna know something really odd? There’s another one. The IMDB lists two January Joneses–the one we know as Betty Draper, and the other one an actress from the 1960s. Who knew? I have to admit I’m curious to see the one movie she was in because it looks like it features the entire secondary cast of the Dick Van Dyke show.

So there are THREE.
Here’s the movie you’re talking about. Written by and starring Morey Amsterdam, co-starring Rose Marie, and with appearances by Joey Adams, Steve Allen, Carl Reiner, and Milton Berle.
I bet it’s AWFUL.

How DARE you?!? … With Joey Adams AND Milton Berle? No way it sucks.

And don’t forget Moe Howard of Three Stooges fame! And cameos by Danny Thomas (Make Room for Daddy), Irene Ryan (The Beverly Hillbillies), and Forrest Tucker (F-Troop). What a A TV rerun nightmare…
Wow, a month and a half later, and I’m I’m still thinking about this film…I bet it’s so bad it hurts.
I really need to see it…

I was watching “Mr. Warmth: the Don Rickles Project” and there were all these pictures of Vegas back in the day. And on one of the Don Rickles Marquees from the 60’s there she is — January Jones.
Funny thing is, when Mad Men first appeared, I *thought* there had already been someone named January Jones, but I put it down to my error.
