I may be wrong, of course, but I remember that gown as black with white and pale pink triangular inserts.

No, you're totally thinking of the wrong pink gown. She wore that one (with the shrug) in the photo shoot itself, when they fired her. The pastel one is the one he let her keep, but they took the jewelry.

The one we are talking about is a hot pink, black and white. It was amazing, but also embarrassing because the other model-contenders were wearing like, sexy tight pants. You and I talked about it. Yesterday. It has a bow in the front.

Oddly enough, I also linked to the picture in my earlier comment. My photo looks red, yours looks pink, so WTF.

It's a different pink, though. The gown is a pale pink, very pastel.

I looked at the picture (wait 'til I close out of this, then I'll come back and edit the picture in if I can) and it looks pink. I can be wrong.

It's so not letting me do it : |

I shall link.

Roberta, I think the mini-thing was red-and-blue, and played into Giovanni's ("Johnny"'s) obsession with America.

Nina, hi!

Amazing that you brought this up, because Deborah and I just took a look at this episode yesterday (it was Shoot, which was 9), and talked about the dress. It was the dress she wore to the initial interview/audition for the photo shoot. My guess is that it was another "Giovanni" original (the designer she had worked with when she was younger; the one whose little mini-thing she modeled for Francine). My thinking was, it is much bolder a design than what Betty typically wears, and features the hot pink which may be the same pink from the mini-thing, and therefore could be from the same collection. Plus it would give her that much more impetus to wear it to her first venture back into the modeling world; a designer original.

The AMC site not only does not feature a photo of that dress in their photo section, but doesn't even feature anything from the photo shoot itself, which is intensely negligent.

As for the dress itself, I have no information, but all of the costumes on the show are original. Janie Bryant oversees. Cool video about the costuming here:

On episode 9 or 10? Betty wore a formal pink dress with a little black and white. I would like to know more about this dress and get a picture of it as well. I have looked but can't find one. Thanks
